  Metabolism is the combination of life-sustaining chemical reactions in organisms. The three main motives of metabolism are- the food will be converted to energy to run cellular processes; the conversion of food or fuel to building blocks for proteins, lipids, nucleic acids, and some carbohydrates. Metabolic reactions are also categorized into two types such as catabolic which means the  breaking down  of compounds and anabolic which means   the  building up   of compounds like proteins, carbohydrates, lipids, and nucleic acids. Usually, catabolism will release some energy, and anabolism will consume some energy. When it comes to dieting, researchers had said that majority of people will regain some weight.
